God's Household

Does God have a house?

Yes, the Creator does and welcomes us in.  The house is not a wood frame, brick, vinyl siding, cinder block building. It's made of persons: a Father, a Son, and the Holy Spirit.  This divine trio welcomes the Baptized into their home as they did Mary, the Mother of God and First Lady of Heaven.

Each time we respond "yes" to Jesus and take our place at the Lord’s Table on the Lord’s Day we enter heaven.  The altar is a table placed in the sanctuary which becomes a doorway or a bridge to the house of heaven.

As Catholics we do not believe that we go to heaven after our funeral. We “go to heaven” and practice going there every time we come to Mass.

Gathering at Sunday Mass says, "I accept your invitation, God, to your home." Otherwise, we say we're "Really not interested in heaven, today."   Not interested in living forever today?  Or in street talk, "Thanks but no thanks, I’ll do it alone."
Come on up! Take your place with the saints, today, the Lord's Trinity Sun-day. Enter heaven's house.
